Lake Notes

It is amazing how all my worries recede when I am at the lake. I truly am a different person, much more mellow. Right now there is a strong breeze across the lake, the only sounds are the rustle of leaves, birdsong and the quiet music of my chimes- no cars - every now and then a human voice. This is where I usually work on manuscripts as there is little distraction. The cabin is small so there are few chores. No dishwasher, so we wash dishes by hand and it is almost a form of meditation. Not that I would like to give up my dishwasher and large studio space at home, but the change is good. The lake is where I put things in perspective. It refreshes me and I return home full of energy and enthusiasm for my book work and everyday life.
